What is WMS technology?

WMS is short of Water Mist Secondry, it is patented technology owned by ESAB Victor.

The WMS process, which uses nitrogen as ion gas and ordinary tap water as protective gas, has super cutting performance on non-ferrous metals and low cost of use. The hydrogen released in the water mist protective gas reduces the oxidation of the oxygen in the air to the cutting surface, thereby enhancing the oxidation resistance of the cutting surface. WMS is suitable for cutting plates with a thickness not exceeding 45mm.

Principle of the WMS

The principle of the WMS process is to use nitrogen as the plasma gas and tap water as the shielding gas. The water inside the torch breaks down into its main components (hydrogen and oxygen) during the cutting process. The hydrogen released in the water mist protective gas reduces the oxidation of the oxygen in the air to the cutting surface, thereby enhancing the oxidation resistance of the cutting section. The vast majority of the water used (0.25 to 0.5 l/min) is converted to gas and no further cleaning is required.
