Four ways to solve over burning in laser cutting
How to avoid over burning in laser cutting sheet metal?
1. Add cooling point at the corner
When cutting metal plate with sharp corners, the position where overburning is more likely to occur is often at the sharp corners. Overburning will cut the sharp corners into round shapes. At this time, you can add a cooling point at the sharp corners, pause at the sharp corners and blow air.
2. Use high power laser
When cutting carbon steel, a higher power laser can be used, and the bright surface cutting process can effectively avoid overburning, and this kind of cutting process can cut the finished product without burr and bright surface.
3. Cutting with nitrogen
In sheet metal cutting with oxygen as auxiliary gas, nitrogen can be used for cutting. When cutting with nitrogen, the material completely depends on the laser energy to melt, and the nitrogen can blow out the cutting seam and avoid inappropriate chemical reaction. The melting point region temperature is relatively low, coupled with the cooling and protection of nitrogen, the reaction is stable and uniform, and the cutting quality is high. The cross section is fine and smooth, the surface roughness is low, and there is no oxide layer.
4. Increase the air pressure
When optical fiber laser cutting machine is used to process aluminum alloy and stainless steel, the auxiliary gas is nitrogen or air, so edge burning will not occur in the cutting process. However, due to the high temperature of the material inside the small hole, the phenomenon of slag hanging on the inside will be more frequent. In this case, the burr and slag can be reduced by increasing the pressure of auxiliary gas.
